Overview

Learn what test plans are and how to use them in Test Context Manager.

Overview

A test plan groups test cases for a specific execution purpose.

What this feature does

Use a test plan to prepare a repeatable execution set for a release, sprint, regression cycle, or environment check.

What's included

A plan defines execution setup before anyone starts running tests.

This includes:

  • configuration such as browser or device

  • environment such as QA, Staging, or Production

  • target version

What's not included

A test plan does not record pass or fail results by itself.

Use a test run to execute the plan and capture results.

When to use it

Test plans are the recommended starting point for structured testing.

After you create a plan, you can create test runs from it for actual execution.
